Your wedding was expensive. Like your first commenter said, your probably wouldn't have gotten that money if you hadn't spent it on the wedding. My ex-husband and I remarried last October, and managed to keep ours under $3000 with 100 guests. Our youngest son was the videographer, some Flickrite friends took photos, my boss took a collection ($20 from everyone) to pay for the food and put it all together for us. You have some great tips to offer, enjoyed your post!

Re: 7 tips for a frugal wedding

I agree completely. A friend of ours had a wedding last summer, and one
friend with a nice Digital SLR took photos, and another (me) did video.
They saved a ton of money and only had to pay for printing the photos.

Re: 7 tips for a frugal wedding

I think you are right on about the photographer - there is so much free software out there for novices that it really it pretty simple to get good pics - we had a couple friends who knew how to use a camera take some pics for us at our wedding and we did the editing ourselves. We ended up a bunch of great pics and made our own album and total invested was probably $100 and 10 hours of our time. A lot better than the $1500+ some photographers charge.

Re: 7 tips for a frugal wedding

Hope you had a nice honeymoon.
Blessings,
Lance
www.lancessoulsearching.com

Re: 7 tips for a frugal wedding

Yeah, that is probably true.
