I can't remember how many times I have gotten completely lost even to just get home from my office. I would get one as well but there are so many kinds that by the time I get done researching I have to start over. There is no price on being sure that you aren't going to end up in south east.

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

It is nice to be frivilous every now and then and birthday money is a perfect opportunity to do that without feeling guilty.

My guilty splurge was for Premier Jewelry. Someone from church was having a jewelry party and I bought a ring. Including shipping ($2.50) and tax, I think I spent about $39 on a ring that isn't even real! I can't believe it. The ring is pretty, but still, it is plated. I hope I don't get invited to any more parties anytime soon. I don't need any more purchases to feel guilty about.

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

I bought myself a pair of gold earrings yesterday and feel like I wasted my money today.

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

Yeah, if i hadn't gotten the birthday money, I wouldn't have gotten it.
Like I said, I don't NEED it. But, since people gave me money so I could
get my own gift, I thought I might as well do just that.

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

I've actually considered this a couple times myself, but found that I didn't travel enough to justify it. I get around my city pretty well and know the ins and outs nicely. I think it'd be a huge benefit to those that travel a lot or drive for their business, but I still get the itch to get one about once or twice a year....

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

those dance lessons are amazingly expensive. We looked into swing dance
lessons at one point, but wow - way too expensive.

I'm not sure what there is to do in the dells this time of year. I was just
told we're going :). We have some friends going and they invited us to stay
in a condo they've rented -so it won't cost us anything except gas money to
get there. (and money we spend while we're there for two days.)

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

My husband and I took ballroom dancing lessons in the early spring. Those are expensive, so that was definitely a splurge!

What on earth is there to do at the Dells in May? It's definitely not warm enough for the waterparks. I didn't think anything was even open until after Memorial weekend :)

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

Have fun at the Dells!

I can't think of any real splurge-like purchases we've made recently. Lately everything has been for remodeling our house or making it more efficient. Maybe our new platform bed, that was kind of a splurge. We put it on our card which I pay off completely every month.

Re: Non-frugal spending: I bought a GPS

I think this was money wisely spent. Many people think they don't really need GPS, but when they start using GPS, most of then admit they can no longer live without it :-)
